Final Tally - PS4 Outsells Xbox One "By A Longshot"

Only one week left guys!!!! Are you ready??? Found this article and thought our members might find this interesting. Perfect time for some last minute non-official statistics, I say. One last look at the final results and speculation before we see the actual results. :) According to one GameStop manager, apparently, the pre-orders of PS4 are outselling Xbox One by a mile. Here are the details:

PS4 Has More Pre-orders Than Xbox One, "By Long Shot 150:30" says GameStop Manager

Neither Sony nor Microsoft have revealed pre-order figures for both consoles, however a GameStop Store manager via a recent AMA on Reddit provided details regarding which among PS4 and Xbox One has more pre-orders.

This GameStop store manager was "How many PS4 perorders have you received at your store in total?", to which he replied:

"I think my store hit ~150 vs ~30 XBone"

Reddit user "kilogttam" added: "It's a lot more than I expected but I keep seeing people reporting ~3x as many PS4 preorders as Xbox One."

To this GameStop Manager replied: "Yupp, the only store I saw with more XBone pre orders than PS4 was a mall store, had like 110 PS4 and 115 Xbone. Otherwise on average, there are a decent amount more PS4 pre orders."

I already knew the Playstation 4 was outselling the Xbox One, but that does not mean it is the better console. Just means more people would prefer the PS4 over the Xbox One, until they actually own both their opinions are biased.

This doesn't surprise me at all. Who knows who will win in the end, but I figured Microsoft would lose early because of their PR mistakes and their higher price point.

Well, the console is much cheaper, got some nice exclusive games, paying for online nets you some free games for every new month, and a bunch more stuff, so i think it's guaranteed. Let's just see if this keeps up after release or will things escalate?

Bad publicity did not help Xbox. I know they felt they nipped the problem in the bud, but they could have done without the problem at all. The bad publicity gave people ample reason to research the product in contrast to buying on the product name. They had an assumption that their legion of 360 users would follow them into this new age without question. Big mistake.

XBox One had a lot of bad publicity and most of the flaws in their console were very badly highlighted by the media. To top that the PS4 was cheaper. I am not surprised there is a huge difference in sales.

This is a statement from an unofficial source and that is not to say things may be different at a different store. That being said I do believe the PS4 will outsell the Xbox One but numbers will be much closer, I see PS4 outselling Xbox One by a 3 to 2 margin. This is huge since NA has been dominated by MS this current generation. The change will be attributed by current Xbox owners jumping over to Sony's camp, in my case it is a direct result of Microsoft's attempted DRM fiasco. I will never support a company that tried to screw its user base to fill their pockets.

I don't find this the least bit surprising. Even though they changed a lot of the things that people really didn't like about the original ideas that they had for the XBox One, among the people I know they caused enough upset that people seemed to decide that Microsoft was too far out of touch and not consumer oriented. Now, that might be true about Sony too--big companies are often impersonal--but it certainly seemed more like they were interested in doing right by consumers over doing right by publishers.

I don't know anybody personally who was even interested in getting an XBox One.

Can some one point to where I can pre order an XboxOne? If I could I would. Bestbuy took more pre orders in a few weeks ago and they were sold out in 4 days.
Both systems are sold out on pre order,

I will eventually get both systems, the only reason why I won't get the XboxOne on release day is because there is no XboxOne exclusive games I want.

I wouldn't get caught up siding with one or the other, We don't get a pay check from either, so I want them to both beat each other up and be neck and neck, it is good for us the consumer.
For me, I have a ps3 and xbox360 and I've played all the AAA exclusive games on both sides and glad I did.

This is definitely a big part of the problem. Had they announced the X1 as it is right now, they wouldn't be getting such bad press. I do think some of the bad press tends to exaggerate a lot but it's Microsoft's fault regardless...

I for one am still paranoid that they changed their stance to get consoles out the door, and will re-implement them once they get the consoles in your living room.

I'm rooting for the PS4, I like how cheap it is and I loved their exclusives on the last generation. When I get a hold of some money I'm definitely buying one. I'd like to believe that Microsoft is getting crushed in sales, but we won't get official figures for a little while yet.

Not surprised in the slightest, PlayStation just has more to offer than other competitors. I know I sound like a fan boy right now but there is just so many things that the PS4 has to offer. No one will deny the fact that the majority of gamers prefer Sony's console than Microsoft's. I don't blame them either because it's just a "gamers" console, it's been consumer friendly from the start and that has given them the vote of most.

Ah the Sony era has begun again! I feel like a kid on Christmas patiently waiting until I can un-box that brand new Playstation 2. It comes to no surprise that Sony has taken a clear lead going into the console wars as there was far more positive buzz surrounding the PS4 and it's gaming line-up. Xbox One really killed off their momentum going into this generations console wars with the DRM drama and have yet to recover, due to continually being nailed with relatively bad publicity in terms of it coming to light that their console is weaker, in terms of gaming and graphical power, than the PS4, and them essentially paying developers not to release stats in terms of how they stack up to the PS4.

That was one of my major concerns too. They demonstrated that consumer protection was not one of their major focuses, and I think that mentality is going to be a big problem. It's a significant reason to avoid using their products, in my opinion.

On the other hand, Sony made a lot of decisions that seem to protect the consumer, and demonstrated that they have some of our best interests in mind, rather than just their bottom line and the protection of the publishers.
