This is pretty much my approach, to be patient. The game selection will exponentially grow within time, and in that time it will hopefully become affordable to me. I can see the appeal of getting it on launch day, but it's not appealing to me.

Crash Team Racing was huge. Classic cartoon-style kart racer with lots of replay value. Gran Turismo is probably the best though.
