mgs5 the phantom pain to reduce cutscenes in favour of pure game storytelling

Kojima says that The Phantom Pain would be 200x bigger than Ground Zeroes. If that means that it would have 200 more cutscenes than Ground Zeroes then count me out. I love the cutscenes in the Metal Gear Solid series. But I think there are some scenes that could have just been left out because...

    Did you enjoy playing Onimusha?

Onimusha was a series made by Capcom for the PlayStation 2. It was an action game series that is set in Japan which featured pre-rendered backgrounds, 3D characters, and an action oriented gameplay. I saw that the games in the Onimusha series were rated highly so I purchased Onimusha 1 and 2 at...

Best ending boss battles on the PS1

Did you know that you could skip the battle with The End if you would be able to shoot him when he's in the wheel chair a couple of sequences before you actually meet? I do agree that the battle with The End is quite exhilarating.

The PS1 loading screen of death..

You know what I hate the most? It was when a game would load just before you could save right after a very difficult boss battle. This would really make me nervous as I would always think that the game would hang before I could save (which has happened to me a couple of times quite frankly).

What is the strangest Playstation (PS1/PS2) game you've ever played?

Yup. There's a thread very similar to this already. It was posted two months before this thread was made. The link is given below: http://ps4forum.com/9-playstation-legacy/2981-weirdest-ps-game-you-ever-played.html In that thread I replied that Silent Hill was pretty weird and scary. I also...

    Swapping save data

I never tried it. Never really understood the rationale behind swapping saved data. I chose to keep my saved data to myself and the saved data of others far away from me. And I can say that I managed to get along with the games pretty well. No cheats, no save swapping gimmicks, nothing (well...

Why did some people hate Resident Evil 4?

I loved RE4. It's my favorite Resident Evil game of all time. I was really impressed with its graphics before and it controlled like a breeze. It was a deviation from the tank like controls of the games that came before it. There was a nice mix of horror and action too. Which is why I'm...

    RPG games

I can't wait for Final Fantasy 35... By the way, here's a list of RPGs coming to the PS4: http://m.officialplaystationmagazine.co.uk/2013/07/15/the-best-ps4-rpgs-the-top-14-role-players-of-the-next-generation I do hope that there would be more JRPGs. I miss the PS1 and PS2 days when there was...

Lego The Hobbit - will you get it?

Lego video games have been kicking it in high gear. It seems as though there would be no end to the things that Lego games could imitate. This time, they got The Hobbit. I saw some videos of the gameplay and it seems like standard Lego affair. I think it won't make a Lego game hater (like me)...

    Most Underrated Game On PS1

There are a lot of underrated games on the PS1. One of my favorite strategy RPGs - Monster Seed, was definitely underrated. Though it had a mediocre story, the gameplay was top notch. You could hatch and collect monsters and use them in battle. Battles occurred in grids and you could control...

    Most Generic Games

There's nothing more generic than stacking a bunch of endless falling cubes together to earn points. Yes, talking about Tetris. The PS1 has seen some of them. Magical Tetris Challenge? Tetris Plus? The Next Tetris? Puhleeese. How many Tetris games do we need to have?

Best ending boss battles on the PS1

We saw an evolution in bids battles during the SNES and the Sega Genesis days. Boss battles during these days became a lot more interesting. But it was during the time of the PS1 that boss battles became very creative. Ending boss battles especially were big spectacles. An example would be...

    Awesome PSX openings

Nice thread. As far as intros go, I think Final Fantasy 8 is on the top of the list. The music was haunting and the cg graphics were amazing. Squall and Seifer's gunblade duel is pretty cool. The intro of ff9 is good as well. It's calm and serene. It's not as cool as the intro of ff8 though.

Resident evil series on the PS4?

I just looked up The Evil Within at YouTube and saw a couple of gameplay videos. I checked out this video first: It looks like Nathan Drake was plopped into the world of Resident Evil. I don't have a problem with the games graphics. It's very moody and atmospheric and extremely scary.

Game You Were Determined To Beat

Some people mentioned GTA. I don't know why but I never really felt compelled to finish any GTA game that came out. The games that I was really determined to finish are as follows: God of War 1 and 2 - I wanted to see what awesome thing Kratos would do next Shadow of the Colossus - this game...

    Easiest Games On PS2

Fight Night Round 3. Once you get the hang of the controls, you could knock out all of your opponents before the 6th round. You can just throw haymaker upon haymaker. What you just need to do is to try and manage your stamina so that your punches won't lack power in the long run. Someone also...

Any fans of the Suikoden series?

I'm a fan of the Suikoden series. Though I have not played it in the PS1, I was able to play some games on the PS2. I liked the fact that there were a lot of characters that you could gather and include in your party. The story was lighthearted and fun and kept it interesting all throughout. My...

Who wants to see Jak and Daxter and Crash Bandicoot on the PS4?

Oops, sorry for the typo. Yep, it was definitely for the PS3. The Crash Bandicoot game for the PS2 sucked. Fortunately, the Jak and Daxter series saved platform gaming for the console. Why not merge the two franchises together and make one big game out of it. Isn't it that both games were owned...

Who wants to see Jak and Daxter and Crash Bandicoot on the PS4?

Little Big Planet has been the main platform game for the PS4. It was a great game that offered endless fun but I think it lacked the attitude that the Crash and Jak and Daxter games brought to the table. Who wants these two games back?

Resident evil series on the PS4?

Resident Evil is one of my favorite horror game franchises of all time. It offers a lot of jump scares and intense action which make it a lot of fun. But after RE 6, the series went quiet. Is there any news if the series would be continued on the PS4?
