A long "What is wrong with my PS4" post.

I'm just going to shorten this as much as possible and list the problems I have and what I have already tried.

Problems
- When I press the power button, sometimes the blue light comes on, then a click noise, then it shuts off. Some days are worse than others; one day I only have to press it once, others 5 times, other upwards of 15 times before the PS4 will come on and stay on.
- The PS4 will turn off randomly during use. I will be playing a game, the screen will go black, the PS4 will make that same click noise, then off. This is also a very inconsistent problem; some days I can play for 2 hours before this will happen, some days not even 30 minutes. Also, sometimes my TV will make a horrible buzzing noise before the PS4 shuts off. It usually starts back up in Safe Mode if I turn it back on immediately.

What I Have Tried so Far
- I have checked all the cords, the HDD, and the back of the machine. Everything that is visible appears to be fine.
- I moved the PS4 into another room with a different TV. Nothing changed.
- I have tried EVERY option in Safe Mode. Option 6 made the PS4 work for about 2 days before the problem started occurring again, all the other options did nothing.
- I contacted Sony support where they just told me to send it in for $160 (warranty is up). Im broke and have heard they just send you a refurbished one that is not guaranteed to work when you get it back.
- Countless online guides for troubleshooting.

So, what is wrong with it, and can I fix it myself (If you can even tell by the description)?

It honestly sounds like your PS4 is broke. I know that doesn't sound helpful mate but intermittent turning off and other things like that often spell that your PS4 is well and truly fudged. If you've tried all the safe mode options then I don't think its software related and instead hardware related. I see you've contacted sony. Its true then send out a refurbished PS4 if its within warranty, they basically do a trade. My current PS3 is a refurbished one from Sony and lasted 4 years before the laser within the disc finally broke which is a common fault and going 4 years without an issue is a long time.

It sounds like a hardware fault and it might need professional help. I know this doesn't help you but if its doing those things, I don't think its a software issue. Have you tried posting on the official PS forums? To see if one of their support teams can give more information?

Sounds like you're going to have to send it in eventually, it's likely going to get worse until it doesn't work at all. It sucks you get a refurb but if yours isn't working properly now then a working refurb would be of more use. I know how it is when you're broke, I recommend just dealing with the issues for now while you save up the cash to get it fixed.
