Ok, finally got connected and finally got the DVD/Blu-Ray to play. But it wouldn't play discs with downloaded avi/mp4 files....anyone know of a way of getting these to play?

Cheers.

As of right now, no you can't. Sony has come out saying that media center capabilities will come out very soon via a firmware update. It caused quite a stir in the community as you can't stream a movie from a home raid drive or external drive yet either.

To solve cannot transfer MP4 to PlayStation 4 or cannot find or play MP4 on PS4, we had better convert MP4 to PS4 more supported video format.

iDealshare VideoGo is just the right MP4 to PS4 Converter which supports converting all kinds of PS4 unrecognized MP4 files to PS4 more compatible MP4, AVI, MPEG-2 and etc which is also playable on PS3. So this MP4 PS4 Converter is also a MP4 to PS3 Video Converter.

Besides converting MP4 to PlayStation 3/4, this wonderful MP4 to PS4 Converter also can convert MKV, MPG, MOV, RMVB, FLV, F4V, 3GP, AVI, VOB, OGV, WebM, DV, TS, SWF, and etc to PS4 or PS3 video format.

PS4 supports AVI and MP4 now, however, since AVI/MP4 is a container video format which may contains various video or audio codec, if the AVI/MP4 video is not encoded with PS4 compatible codec, we will fail to play them on PS4 and there is no other way but to convert AVI/MP4 to PS4 supported video for successfully playback.
