Then writing reports and submitting issues!I have heard that it isn't all it's cracked up to be. You work long hours and often play terrible games. You aren't just playing through a game, you are playing the same section of a game over and over again, looking for problems.
It wasn't all that fun, but it wasn't as bad some people in this thread are making it out to be. BlackSolaris's experience doesn't seem too good, but mine was alright. I played alpha and beta builds on a bunch of games, mostly notable ones. I didn't mind submitting bugs into the system, that was one of the more enjoyable aspects for me. Made me feel like I accomplished something. And finding really messed up bugs was fun. The worst part was writing the report at the end of the shift, but it only took 15-20 minutes, so eh.
Did you get dropped afte rthe projects were done or did they transition you to a new projects. I have heard that job security is a huge issue in the game tester profession.
