Best Action Games For Xbox 360

What are some of teh best action games you would recommend for the Xbox 360?

There's a few on the 360 that are pretty fun. If you liked God of War on the Playstation 2, then you should try Dante's Inferno. It's pretty much a copy of God of War but still incredibly fun and the combo system is great. Plus, there's this whole "Good/Bad" type of thing that gives you different combos and powers. If you're looking for straight testosterone, then pick up a copy of Gears of War. Nothing more manly then overroided soldiers screaming and shooting everything in sight. A good action/adventure game you can try if you're a little more focused on story would be NIER. Pretty fun, but difficult.

Dante's Inferno is excellent, and the gameplay is just really fun.
Another that I really like is Vanquish. It's like a TPS but it has combos and things like that so it feels more like an action game.

My favorite action games are western games. I just like chasing bad guys while riding a horse. It is so much fun. I like games like Gun and Read Dead Revolver. The shoot em up type of games.

Can't mention "action" without giving credit to the Halo series. It's very well done from top to bottom, single player to multi player. They've done such a fantastic job keeping the series rife with pulse-pounding scenes and frantic chaos.

Eh, I'm gonna have to completely disagree with you on that one. Halo 1 and 2 were amazing, but the rest have just contentiously gotten more and more stale. The "Visuals" change, but the game play remains the same, and the most recent one (Halo 4) was a HUGE let down. Incredibly short campaign, under powered weapons, boring enemies, and the Mulitplayer wasn't new either.

While I agree with your basic idea, I think Halo 3 was still pretty good. But yeah, I would personally prefer playing any of the first 3 over Halo 4 for sure which simply feels pointless.

I remember playing Gun on PS2 and liked it even though it seemed so small--to that playing after the game was done wasn't really worth it.
