Disk drive problem

First post, bare wit me.

Here are the problems I've encountered.

Sometimes disk won't go in as if something is blocking it.

When it does accept a disc it makes horrible noises (clicking/humming) like sand or dirt is in it (which I know there's not) it acts as if it's goin to read the disk but take FOREVER(5ish minutes) an then says unrecognizable disk.
I've tried games and movies. I got call of duty ghosts to work once since this has happened.

I'm sure I'll end up gettin a new drive but want to try everything I can before I spend more money on it.

Oh when this first happened my 4 year old son said he was tryna turn it on and was slappin the top of the system.

K so I retarded it from safe mode and inserted AC: Unity an is workin but it still made the nasty screeching clicking noises when powering on an when pulling in disk
