Driveclub Has No Clutch Support and No Horns; You can Drive With a Wheel from the Get Go

If you like to drive your racing games with the clutch, the upcoming PS4 exclusive Driveclub is going to require a bit of getting used to, as mentioned by Game Director Paul Rustchynsky on Twitter today:

No clutch support currently, but I’ll have to check-up on the TH8RS for you.

Rustchynsky also mentioned that there isn’t a a button to toot your car’s horn, and since we’ll be thrown straight into a race as soon as we launch the game, if you have a wheel you won’t even need to touch your DualShock 4 to play, as your wheel will be configured automatically and will work from the get go.

Personally, I can’t help being a little disappointed by the lack of clutch support, but considering that there’s currently one PS4 compatible wheel with a clutch pedal for the moment (the Thrustmaster T-500), it’s perhaps understandable.

Since Rustchynsky says “currently” we can maybe hope to see it added with a future patch, when wheel support for the console will be extended.

Who cares about a horn? lol. I never use mine unless its aptly followed by "the-bird".

However a racing wheel set with a clutch would be SICK! How about a realistic "gated shifter" or maybe even a handbrake lever setup for the drifting. I think actually having to shift gears would be sweet rather then a tap shift up and down setup. Different cars with different transmissions (5 speed vs 6 speed) could have a light up area on the shifter unit that shows what gears are which. Reverse is in different locations on different cars. Like old Porsche that had reverse where 1st would normally be on a 4 speed and 1st was where second would be.
