The footage below, which aired during the VGX Awards at the weekend, shows how melee combat, zombie damage and parkour works in action.

Published by Warner Bros., Dying Light will release for PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3 and PS4 some time in 2014. The game is said to feature "a game-changing day-night cycle" and will be set in a "vast open world".

For those of you that may have missed the VGX 2013 awards yesterday, here's a new live gameplay demo. It has been confirmed that it will run at 1080p. Although not set release date has been announced, it will be coming out sometime in 2014. So don't worry peeps...You'll get your zombie killing in sooner than later! In the mean time, I'll be playing Dead Rising 3 on my Xbox One. (Don't hurt me! I just love zombie games!!)

That is a tiny crosshair!! I'm going to give this game a shot, even if I am a bit tired of the zombie/Dead Island type games.

While I'd like more actual survival-based zombie games (like State of Decay), I have to admit this is pretty damn awesome looking. I'd really like to try this out.

Looks too similar to the Dead Island series. I know it's from the same developers but other than the parkour, all the animations are almost exactly alike. Anyway, I'm still interested and will probably get this game when it's released since I enjoyed Dead Island.

I'm still willing to be open minded about this regardless of my feelings for Dead Island. There's enough here to make me believe that this could be good if we keep our expectations at realistic levels. I'm not willing to completely write this game off yet until I hear from the people who try out the demo. Then I'll make a judgement.

Even if it does look good, I don't think I'm going to buy it. I'm tired of zombie games, so I'll just wait for the reviews and see if they at least try to add a few things to make the game unique.
