Favorite Fighting Game Series?

Basically what the titles says, what is your favorite fighting game series? For me, I guess I'll have to pick one of the popular choices and say Marvel Vs. Capcom. I love that it allows you to be able to choose Marvel characters and battle against Capcom's mascot characters. It's a great feeling to be able to play as Spider-Man and fight against characters like Ryu and Mega Man.

I pretty much love all of them since it's my favorite type of video game to play, but if I had to choose one, I'd pick Tekken. It's a lot easier to pick up for new players so it's a little more fun to play as a group, and once you find a style of fighting that fits you, even if it doesn't entail learning and using combos like me, then it gets exponentially more fun to play. A close second would be any of the Street Fighter games, but like I said, I found it harder to find people who liked playing it because having to learn Hadoken isn't for everyone whereas in Tekken, usually pressing individual buttons would be enough to make powerful moves.

I'd say that I've had the most fun with Tekken. My uncles and I would play that game for hours. It was pretty much a blast every time. We'd always have to look up how to do the different unlocks and its a nice little memory. Glad the series still goes strong. Soul Caliber definitely takes a place in that top 3 though!

It's currently a tie between Street Fighter and Tekken. Good thing they made Street Fighter X Tekken :D

Soul Calibur is my favorite, mainly because of the design your own character aspect of it. That and I don't play that many fighting games anymore.

I know most people will choose Street Fighter, but I definitely have to go with Soul Calibur. As difficult as some of the games are at times, I have a lot of memorable experiences with the Soul Calibur games. I still repeat Spawn's line from the Xbox version of Soul Calibur 2 (even in non-fighting games): "suffer!"

I don't often play many fighting games and the ones I do are usually pretty easy ones like Smash Bros. Although I've really been enjoying Persona 4 Arena, it's actually quite a lovely game and if any of you get a chance to try I suggest you do. On that note you should also just play try Persona 4 or Golden if you got a Vita.

Street Fighter and King of Fighters are my flavors of choice. I'm no pro, but those are games I take a little more seriously and actively put a lot of hours of practice into. Mortal Kombat, BlazBlue, Smash Bros, and Soul Calibur are my second picks, as I play them off and on, but mostly only causally and with friends. So those games are really more for fun and laughs. I haven't played the Persona 4 Arena game, but I heard good things about it, and even saw it at the recent EVO 2013.

I respect them, but I personally never had the taste for Tekken, Virtua Fighter, or DOA.

It used to be Mortal Kombat. Now it's street fighter. I think Mortal Kombat has lost its way as a franchise. Too much about glitz now.

My favorite fighting game series is Mortal Kombat. When I was younger I used to play it alot in the arcades. Im actually playing it right now on my own arcade!

Tekken series is my favorite fighting game series. It is the most popular Tekken fighting game series. My favorite characters in this game are Panda and Angel. I love Angle’s fighting style because she use Mishima Style Karate to fight against Devil and evil.

Tekken for me. I also have a soft spot for the Soul Calibur series and who doesn't love Street Fighter. But Tekken is still the best among the lot at the end of the day even if I liked Soul Calibur more back in the day.

I've played every fighting game for every system starting with the Street Fighter series, Mortal Kombat, Fatal Fury, Art of Fighting, Tekken, Soul Calibur, King of Fighters, the Capcom crossover games with Marvel and SNK, and Project Justice. I've enjoyed Soul Calibur 3 because of the Chronicles of the Sword game where you fight opponents in Soul Calibur style. Plus, you can create any character for that game which makes it more playable. Of course, I could never forget Project Justice, being one of my favorite arcade games, and what I like most are the Party-Up Techniques. SVC Chaos is also a great arcade game as well, and if you can unlock the hidden characters, you make the game more interesting.
