Features on the PS4 that you didn't expect to see?

Good day!

The features of a certain gadget plays a big role for me if I'd buy the said gadget or not. It has an important role on the decision making factor.

We can never deny that the PlayStation 4 has a lot of features under its belt. With that, I would like to ask. What features on the PS4 were you not expecting to see? Which features completely shocked you?

Feel free to discuss. Thanks!

I can't think of anything, really. I expected it to have plenty of new features. I was hoping it would be backwards compatible with PS3 discs, so that's a disappointment...

I suppose the whole "not supporting external HDD's" is just Sony's way of trying to bring the world into network and cloud storage. Still, a little annoying!
I didn't expect to see cloud gameplay, was a nice surprise in the wake of the knowledge that the PS4 was not backwards compatible, but still a little worried as to how it's going to work.

I'm with Unlosing Ranger on this one. Also, I was surprised by the share button. I never really thought of gaming as needing a share button, but if this is what they think the consumers need, then we'll see how it goes. Hopefully, they made the right choice.

Didn't expect the touch pad in the controller. I thought that the Dual Shock was already clogged with buttons but they still managed to sneak in the touch pad in there. I would be even more surprised if it would be fully implemented in games or will it just be another gimmick like the SixAxis.

Frankly speaking, I was quite disappointed to find out that the new PS4 console was no longer able to support external HDDs. At first, I thought it was some kind of a joke, but then I realised I was wrong.

I did not expect that the 3.5mm jack of the DualShock 4 can give us the sound of the chat and games at the same time.

Haha, I also did not think the PS4 will not support external HDD. It's a shame ...

I did not expect that DriveCulb be delayed! And I did not expect that they give free on PS + games.

Anyway, it's not like that spoil the fun I will have with my PS4.
There are plenty of other new features to compensate for small errors.
