GTA online, does armour change handling acceleration of the car?

I have a turismo r and well I have got 40% armour but also when I am in race the zentornos just fly past. Is it because the turismo is slow or isit the armour? Does armour slow the cars down and make them handle nose heavy etc?

I wish to buy a car for racing shall I get the zentorno and also shall I armour it?

Armours do not slower your cars. Probably your opponent had a faster car and a better equipement (motor, transmission, etc.).

thankx but I still think cars feel bit heavy steering when armoured
