Have you played a Splinter Cell game?

I loved Metal Gear so much that after I was done with part 3, I craved for games similar to it. I turned to Splinter Cell Chaos Theory. It looked good at first but I was turned down by its extreme difficulty. I don't know why but I found it a lot harder than the MGS games. Have you ever played Splinter Cell for the PS2 or the PS3? Did you like it? Will there be a Splinter Cell for the PS 4?

The only I have played was Chaos Theory and I quite enjoyed it. I'm quite an avid fan of the stealth genre, with 3rd person games like Hitman being my favourite, so I picked up splinter cell quite naturally and I must say that I enjoyed it a lot. The game is a bit dated and I had trouble getting it to run on my PC but I did manage in the end. I would probably disagree that the game is too hard if you have any idea about stealth games. I found it to be quite a pleasant challenge, it was quite different to the Hitman series, in the sense that you weren't just taking out one person but rather going through a series of people along the way, and also it felt to be a bit more restricted and less open world than hitman, but I still enjoyed it immensely considering that I picked it up in a bargain basket for some silly amount.

I'm a longtime Splinter Cell fan, and its true the earlier installments were quite challenging and downright unforgiving. You cannot play it like Metal Gear Solid. Really Metal Gear Solid plays by its own rules for stealth, like many other stealth games. More recently though, for better or worse, the Splinter Cell games have moved more into a faster-paced stealth-action route, so you want to play Splinter Cell Conviction for that. I personally enjoyed the shift in gameplay. You still have to clear/bypass every section of baddies as an obstacle course to the next section like most games.

We can look forward to the next Splinter Cell, Blacklist, next month, while the next Metal Gear game will come out whenever, hopefully next year.

I played Splinter Cell Conviction and from memory I enjoyed it even though it was pretty short. I imagine I would of enjoyed it more had I of played the other original games. I also played a bit of Double Agent but I never took to that one. Then again my taste in games seems to change every year so I'm more open to other genres.

I played a bit on a Gamecube Splinter Cell, but it was nothing serious.
My first real Splinter Cell will be "SC: Blacklist".

I can not wait to try this game! I like almost all infiltration games! Why it reminds me of Metal Gear Solid? LoL!

Otherwise, Toms Clancy games are always good. Rainbow Six is a great example. Then there is The Division for next-gen consoles!

The future is good for Ubisoft!

Again, just like Resident Evil, Thief, Hitman, Tomb Raider and a whole bunch of other series, they ruined them since the beginning of this generation. They still think they can make memorable "games" by making them 70% a huge prompt to proceed.
What i recommend is to get the Splinter Cell HD Collection and just ignore all the rest, specially the new one!

I played a few of the older PS2 Splinter Cells and didn't really get into them. I love the Hitman series as far as stealth goes. I did get into Splinter Cell in a big way with Conviction though. Conviction was pitch-perfect for me. I still felt like I was in a stealth game, but it was so fast and packed with action. Also they completely simplified the controls. My experience with previous incarnations were that the control system was overcomplicated and clunky.

It's pretty funny that you found Chaos Theory really difficult to play, especially after playing a game from Metal Gear series. It's normally supposed to be the other way around, but it seems as though you mastered MGS and failed to get the hang off Splinter Cell Chaos Theory.

As far as me p-laying Splinter Cell games is concerned, I have played 'em all - nothing left.

The first ever game I played was Chaos Theory which was my entry into the stealth genre. I learned to appreciate it as I played it till the end. I was so paranoid that the game ended lol. So, I started playing other Splinter games. Now I am geared up to get my hands on Splinter Cell: Blacklist.
