Is Alienware the ideal brand of gaming laptops?

From what I've read on most gaming websites, everyone seems to be recommending Alienware as the ideal brand of laptops for playing games. I did my share of searching on eBay and other similar websites and noticed that Toshiba and Asus have pretty good gaming laptops as well. Some of the specifications seemed superior to Alienware.

So, I was wondering, what brand of laptop do you recommend? And what is your opinion about Alienware?

I have an alienware desktop that is a few years old, and still runs like it did when it was brand new. I can't speak for their laptops, though.

Another brand you might want to consider is Falcon Northwest. I've heard good things about them.

I think you can make your own gaming desktop pretty easily, but laptops are harder. So maybe it's just that it's easiest to buy an Alienware laptop rather than try to put your own together.
