LAN connection

trying to connect 2 ps4's so we can play COD over LAN connection but can't get it to work (Don't have ps plus membership atm so can't play online multiplayer).

Can anyone help out with what i'm supposed to do to connect them, i've tried google but all i get is how to have a lan party and how many chairs and what snacks i should buy lol.

Are you sure you can connect two PS4s over LAN?
I never heard of such feature.
