Hi all

was wondering if anybody else has experienced this issue. I updated my firmware today then after the reboot i got a message before the profile page appears “something is wrong with the extended storage drive you selected try disconnecting it and then connecting it again”

i have done this multiple times with the same error and if i go into storage then extended storage it doesnt see it or give me an option to even format it

it has been working fine for several weeks now and only since the new software update was installed has this happened

i have also plugged it into my ps4 and it sees it fine making me definitely think itS the new update

any ideas?

My 3TB external, which has been plugged into my PS4 does not work on my PS5 so I bought a 6TB for the PS5 and that has been working fine. I'm pretty sure that the PS4 used FAT32 to format a drive whereas the PS5 is using something else. So... if that is true, get another hard drive for your PS5, then link the two consoles so you can transfer the date over to the newer drive. That's what I would do.

Hi snikr is that working in our ps5? Or just your ps4 as mine works in the ps4 just not the ps5 since the update
No PS5 for me yet. Hope your issue gets fixed before I get a PS5. I have stuff on my PS4 external drive I'll need (downloaded games) on my PS5.
