Microsoft's Stance on Indie Games is a Problem

Many of those in the gaming industry feel that Microsoft's current guideline on indie games is going to be a problem for them in the long run. As of now, Microsoft doesn't allow for indie developers to self publish their games, compared to Nintendo and Sony. That's not surprising as many indie developers have left Microsoft and went over to Sony. Maybe they will change their stance on the policy after the Xbox One is launched

I remember a lot of good indie games went onto the Xbox first, like Castle Crasher. Xbox has always seemed to be the console that had more and better indie games, let's just ignore the 3D dating games.
Castle Crashers, Bastion, Braid and various other games have all come out on XBLA first before sometimes making their way to Steam and PSN. But now there seems to be way more indie developers keeping to either Steam or PSN when it comes to publishing their games on a massive scale and I think it will really hurt Xbox by just giving Playstation and Steam another advantage.
