New Semester, New Classes

School is starting soon--the end of the month for me--and has started for some already. I am always interested to see what courses people are taking. I know we have some students here, so post away.

Ancient Greek Philosophy

Yup. Focusing on Aesthetics. I'm not yet sure if I want to continue it and pursue a Masters in Philosophy--and eventually teach--or continue my pursuit of filmmaking in grad school. I have a little under a year to figure it out.

That's awesome! I'm still in high school but I take half my classes at college. I can't officially pick my major until I'm out of high school but the classes i've been taking are philosophy classes and i'm 100% sure i'm majoring in philosophy. I also am taking Ancient Greek philosophy which is definitely my favorite class i'm gonna take so far.

I've taken it before, but have to take it again since transferring schools. For whatever reason my current school is super anal about how accepting other school credits for particular classes. No big deal, really, but kind of bothersome nonetheless. Taking philo courses, going for the philo major, listening to philo students, has made me realize though that I'm not exactly the typical academic. Which has made me wonder what the hell I am actually doing here in the first place. Not that I am bad at it per se, I mean I have a 4.0. Ok, so a 3.9--piss off. Now it is too late to turn back.

I could see how you feel that way. I feel different than the rest of the people in my college courses since I'm still in high school. But I'm also not the best student either. It is hard for me to stay interested in one topic for a long time. I am interested in the beginning then fall off towards the end of the class. Yeah and it's kind of hard to back out after you have that much money sunk into classes.
