NFL blitz - the only football game I loved

I never got the hang of the Madden NFL games. They were just too. . . Realistic... for my taste. But when I discovered NFL blitz, I enjoyed football thoroughly. It made it so simple to call plays and control the players. There were even a lot of secrets to discover which made the experience even more exciting. The arcade style of game won me over for a while. I still don't like football though. lol.

I definitely agree with you on NFL Blitz. I still remember my friends and I playing the one on Nintendo 64 for hours. Like you said about Madden, I agree that they are pretty much the standard for football games but I loved how Blitz was so unconventional. I would really love for the series to make a comeback on next gen consoles but that looks to be highly unlikely at this point.

Like the NBA 2K series, Madden holds a monopoly on football games. Also, NFL Blitz game play seems to be limited if compared to this day's standards. Still, the arcade feel of the game and to think that it's also pick up and play, it would definitely win a lot of football fans. Of course, developers would need to greatly update the graphics and add a slew of game modes to make it very worthwhile. It can't replace Madden, but it would be a great alternative.
