Nintendo 3DS XL

Oberon

, , The Enforcer, ,
My missus bought the 3DS XL,silver one on Saturday.
She traded some games, had a voucher and paid on top.
Bought Lego Lord of the Rings with it.

I had a quick look and 3D effect can be cool, depending on the game I think but in any case,I think its best playing them as 2D games so turning the 3D effect off seems best overall,at least from what Ive seen so far.
Screen is bigger at least and thats one of the main reasons she bought it over the 2DS,screen size. To bad there isnt a 2DS XL..yet.

Anyway, anyone else have the 3DS XL? Or even 3DS?
Do you play it much? Opinions/good games to get etc?

Got your message ;)

I went from a DSiXL to a 3DS XL. Actually, I have this ridiculousness. I didn't pay that much for it though! I love it and although I don't play it all of the time as the Xbox and PS are more of my day-to-day thing, my DS comes out any time that I travel and for that it's worth it in of itself. It also comes out when a new game that I want comes out. The great thing is that there are a lot of regular DS games that you can play on it as well. Here are some of my favorites:

Clubhouse Games - You can play with multiple DS systems with only one game cartridge. Paul and I have been sitting separately on a plane and have played games together, which was nice. It's cheap and worth it if you like clubhouse games and/or plan on being stuck with someone that has another system that you'll play with from time to time.

Phoenix Wright games - Love games that make me think.

Professor Layton games - I love puzzles (Phoenix Wright and Professor Layton crossover game coming out soon!)

Zelda titles - It's Zelda. They rock. There's one on the DS and one on the 3DS.

The NEW Super Mario - Mario. Duh. C'mon, it's my ringback tone it's that classic :) (DO NOT get the other Mario title...you can, but it's not as good) There's also one on the 3DS but I haven't tried it yet.

Luigi's Mansion -On the 3DS, it's just a good one if you like Mario/Luigi

Kingdom Hearts on the 3DS, although at times I feel like it is a little button mashy. Mario Kart on the DS or 3DS is great if you like fun racing, Pokemon titles are good if you like Pokemon or card based fighting style games. Hopefully this helps a little!! I have Lego Vice City on the 3DS and it's cute, but like I said about the Lego titles, it does get old after a while.

I'm sure I'm forgetting some, but this is just off of the top of my head. I'll have to look at some of my games when I get home :)

Well as I said, its for me (though we both have the Nintendo NDS),but that Luigi's Mansion looks good, and Ive also heard good things about Donkey Kong Returns.
Nice that you can also download demo's. She liked the Rayman Origin demo (as well as others) so Ive bought that for her on ebay, havent told her so she'll have a nice suprise in a day or 2.
But at the moment she's playing Lego Movie Videogame on PS4.

I've had the chance of playing Pokemon Y on the 3DS and I have to say, the 3D effect has got me going but I just completely turned it off after a few minutes, it's kind of not comfortable with the eyes, but I do like the effect though, its pretty cool.

3d is cool at first to try out those cards it comes with, but soon gets annoying as it has to be in just the right spot holding it or it all just looks blurry, haven't used the 3d feature for anything except the mario 3d game, but that's not very often lately as mostly i've been playing animal crossing.

I love my 3DS. Far too few games effectively use the 3D though. Ocarina of Time did a decent job, and the opening of Shin Megami Tensei IV made great use of it. I leave 3D on all the time though, it just usually isn't noticeable.

The only game I play on the 3DS is Animal Crossing, which I only play for a few minutes.

Super Smash Bros 4 will be coming to 3DS, which I am really excited for.

I can definitely recommend Pokemon X and Pokemon Y if you have any interest in them, probably the best game on the console right now.
Just turn the 3D effects off because the game has way too many of those.

A few minutes a day for the rest of your life! There are drugs easier to quit than Animal Crossing..

Yeah, and if you get back on Animal Crossing, you will never get off.

It's like Mr. Bones' Wild Ride. THE RIDE NEVER ENDS.

You should be playing Fire Emblem Awakening--why are you not?
