Oh Snap, Top Selling Console for 5 Straight Months in The U.S.!!!

Looks like the PlayStation is top selling console in the USA for 5 months straight now. Watch Dogs led the charge but i think its pretty interesting as it shows the new generation being adopted more. It may change with the kinectless Xbox One. The article also mentioned that Wii U sales jumped 85% because of the new Mario Kart. Who knows.

PlayStation 4 was the best-selling console in North America for the month of May, which marks the fifth consecutive month it's achieved the plaudit. Sony's new console also managed to move more titles than any other platform, in a month that saw sales of both consoles and games shoot up.
The NPD Group's video game sales report for the month reveals that console sales jumped up a massive 95 percent year-on-year to $586 million, with console software sales also climbing 57 percent to $274 million.

In all honesty the more people who finally adopt the next gen system means we will have more developers looking to get into making some great games.

I dont know why, but Nintendo never attracted me since Sega Genesis was invented. Since 20 years ago, they couldnt keep their games interesting for me, they keep it childish and family friendly.

Sega does what Nintendon't! Also Sonic was so edgy.. Oh the nineties..

Anyways I think this was pretty much expected. The coming months will be more interesting. We need to see what affect the kinectless Xbox One will have as well as stuff like Smash Bros.

I've never been a Nintendo fan, always owned a Sega way back when lol

But Nintendo announces Zelda every 5-6 years and people orgasm

It's great news to those fanatics I guess. It's good to see that this gen is doing well, means that the transition to the 8th generation is going to happen faster which in turn means publishers will start to focus on the three current gen consoles. So many games are still getting the last gen treatment makes me feel that it's irrelevant to own a PS4 sometimes.

This is awesome and really great news. I love the PlayStation and all of the features that it comes with. I may get a vita down the road since I already have the psp. I hope they do a lot more updates and just make the system fun to be one. I have a few games and adding more.

Good stuff. I've actually considered getting a Wii U eventually too.

I want one so bad it just impossible to budget right now given my forthcoming road-trip. I also have to convince the missus. "Soon," I keep telling myself. I have heard that right now, it has the most games that actually makes use of 1080p. I have yet to look into this, however.

I have been looking into the WII U as well. Mario Kart is awesome and with eventual release of Super Smash Bro's I feel like its something to consider. Especially because they are bringing back all the awesome features of melee (wave dashing, jump cancels) and taking out all the horrible features of Brawl (Tripping... seriously).

Welcome to first year ownership of a next gen console. I know its been a long time since we had this, but it is to be expected.

I already have more PS4 games then I have time to play, so I guess to each their own.

When I was a lad my problem was never having any new games to play. I played my small library of games so much I had them practically memorized and imagined dialogue and storylines between the protagonist and his side scrolling adversaries. Yeah... I was a lonely kid.

Now my problem is having so many great games in my queue and not enough time for all of them.

Its crazy how well PS4 is doing at the moment when it comes to sales!
The Xbox is starting to do well with new bundles but the PS4 is always going to be in charge at this rate.
Better console to be honest.
