Sony Online Entertainment has announced two of its most recent games, PlanetSide 2 and DC Universe Online, are coming to PlayStation 4. Both Planetside 2 and DC Universe Online will be free-to-play and bolstered by microtransactions when they launch on PS4 later this year.

DC Universe Online, the first MMO to ever grace the PS3, tasks players with choosing a mentor and aligning toward good or evil as they start their super-careers in either Metropolis or Gotham City. PlanetSide 2, a sequel-slash-reinterpretation of SOE's persistent-world MMOFPS, allows hundreds of players to battle over territories simultaneously.

Looking forward to Planetside 2. Seen gameplay for this when it was released and thought it looked like my type of game. So cannot wait. Hopefully it ports well to the PS4. Fingers crossed.

As for DC Universe Online, I am probably in the minority of people who have yet to play it. Am I missing out?

Played a lot on my PS3, DC Universe i mean, and i really liked it.
For Planetside 2, i had some great memories from the first game, so i hope the sequel is such as good.

I don't know about MMOs on consoles. I don't think I've ever tried it, but it just seems like they're much better on a PC. I've played DC Universe a bit, but only on PC, but I generally don't play many MMOs anyway. I suppose it depends on the type of game and a person's preferences, but since the PC isn't a console that gets upgraded from time to time, the number of people playing online multiplayer doesn't fizzle out eventually like it does on consoles.

I am looking forward to Planetside 2 on the PS4 because it seems as though the PC version runs like molasses which made it unplayable. Does anyone know if it is going to be cross platform with the PC? If so, it should be interesting to see how people do in regards to the PC having Keyboard/mouse and the PS4 with the new dualshock controller.

I've never gotten to play DC Universe either, since I favor Marvel and their games a lot more, but I would like to try it out since it is still a superhero game anyway. I suppose this would be a great way to find out if it's any good, and it's just more reason to get a PS+. Also, I'm guessing the touchpad would have some good use for games like this, and I'm excited to see how well they've executed this.

It will take a Playstation Plus subscription to play these games on PS4. Personally, it does not bother me!
I love that there have Free-to play on the console, because at first I will not have many games. So I can take care of Planetside 2 sometimes!

There is also Blacklight Retribution! This one, it looks to be very fun!
