Pokemon Nuzlocke

So guys i was wondering, have any of you ever done a Pokemon Nuzlocke? If you dont know what it is then let me explain. It was made by someone who wanted to make a comic of all of his adventures in Pokemon and now many people are doing it and making comics of it.

Its basically a hardcore gamemode of Pokemon that the player creates himself but there are rules that should always apply even though there are some you can modify. One of the rules and probably the most important, is that when your Pokemon passes out, it dies. Its a very sad thing when one of your Pokemon that you shared a bunch of experiences with and good times together just dies. You must give it the proper burial in your PC xD

The second most important rule is that you may only catch one Pokemon per route. This helps keep the difficulty up since youre limited to a certain amount of Pokemon. The other rules arent very important and can be modified as you see fit but any restriction you put on yourself is more fun!

This brings me to the topic of me and my friends Duolocke! Me and my friend are playing through Soul Silver together at the same parts and writing a story as if were together and our pokemon interact with each other and such. Weve had tons of great times and i recommend trying this for anyone who hasnt!!

I'm glad you're having fun with it. That said my only thing is that first six Pokémon I get - including starter - are my team for the duration of the game. This can get kind of harsh depending on what you find and where. It also mean a great deal of grinding early on in order to make them function well.

Oh man that sounds really rough! Im a pretty big Pokemon noob so i doubt id be able to make it far with that team but the friend im playing with could probably do it! I just cant imagine how youd be able to fight the elite 4

Did one after i transfered all my pokemons from Saphire to Diamond, and damn, was that hard to do. I don't remember what pokemons i kept to the end, but i managed to lost two that i really liked, one of them being my first and main.

Yeah it definitely is hard. If i didnt have my friend to tell me what pokemon are strong/week against what id probably be dead already lol. Whats kind of funny and sad at the same time though is we picked our starters to be Umbreon and Leafeon so the main characters were us and our 2 eon "eve"lutions and his died midway through It was a very sad time for him it almost made him wanna stop playing it cause we had such a story built ha.

Nah, it's not too bad (most of the time) the thing you have to do is know what Pokémon are where and what types you'll need later on. That said if you can't get a bird or something sooner rather than later you're going to be kind of SOL in terms of completing objectives in a reasonable time frame - FLY is so important. Fortunately I've always gotten a bird or insect early on in the journey. That said one good thing is that most early areas in Pokémon games have really solid monsters that can be leveled up and customized to be heavy hitters later on. Also by the time I get to the Elite 4 the team is usually something like 50-65 in terms of levels and that's not counting my starter which is generally 10 levels higher. With the correct typing it's possible to just fly through the matches.

It gets pretty hard if any of your Pokemon die and were always competitive to get the pokemon we want in the next part of the map haha. Another problem is the leveling in Soul Silver takes forever and so it makes fighting the Elite Four much harder when you dont have the levels you want/need.

That sounds very interesting to try out that I may actually do it. By the sounds of it, it looks like Pokemon is going to be a much more harder game to beat now. I've been meaning to play Heart Gold, and I might as well try doing the Nuzlocke.

I absolutely recommend it! I havent been on the Pokemon scene very long but my friend ended up getting me into it recently and playing the game Nuzlocke as my first time playing Pokemon ever, i just cant imagine any other way id play it! I mean it seems silly to me anyway that you cant really lose in Pokemon. A game over aspect would be dumb but they really have no penalty for losing any fight its just silly to me. Also it adds the tension of not wanting your favorite Pokemon to get killed!

That's interesting. It's also something I'm not likely to do. Then again, I don't perma-kill my Pokémon either. I also love breeding and honestly just collecting them all. My one great hope for Pokémon is that one day they put out a game focused on just breeding these things.

Ive always liked games that go the extra step to add extras and the breeding feature in Pokemon was a really good touch. Its very unique and its actually funny you mention it because my friend gave us the breeded eve-lutions that were breeded with a skill that ive liked ever since i discovered Slack Off. Yawn! He did it because im always tired and Slack Off is one of my favorite Pokemon's so it was a really neat thing Getting a low level eve-lution at the start of the game with a neat skill would have never been possible without breeding so like i said it was a very nice feature they included!
