PS2: Black

Who here remembers this game or has played it?

In my opinion it was one of the best looking fps games to come out on the ps2. I would even say it looked better than some of next-gen games.

What do you guys think?

I never played this game. I'll have to look for it. I like to play old-school games. It may be a fun experience since I like COD. I'd probably suck at it, but I don't care. A game is a game, no matter how bad I am at it!

I remember it fondly, however, I'd have to say that BLACK was FAR better on the Xbox then it was on the PlayStation 2. The game itself however is awesome, and was really unique for it's time with it's incredibly destructible environment that wasn't really seen in any other title then Red Faction, which I think may have actually come later? Either way, I've gone back a few times and played through BLACK on separate occasions, however as I stated I preferred it much more on the Xbox. Had a better look, and the destruction was a bit more free. The PlayStation 2 was more limited in terms of power so they had to draw back a few things.

Also, for those who've played it. "BODYCOUNT" was supposed to be the unofficial sequel to BLACK.

Black really did push PS2 graphics to its full potential though. When I played it for the first time I thought I was playing a game on my PS3. It was a fun game to play and wished it BodyCount lived up to what Black was.

Yeah, I also played Black on the PS2 and it did look good. The gameplay was pretty awesome too. Too bad, there were very few levels and the story was simply horrible. Black was not an exclusive game for the PS 2 though. It also came out for the Xbox and it had better graphics as compared to its PS 2 counterpart.

Yeah, the story was kinda not what it should be. It was a great game overall though. I wish that it would have had a remake with a bitter story.

Oh, in addition, I think that Black was also a bit linear at times. It felt as if some areas lead me on a straight path. But, I couldn't complain much because of the super intense action that the game presented. The set pieces were simply stunning too and the level design was breathtaking at times.

I remember not being interested in PS2's FPS at the time, but after playing it and seeing how much TECHNOLOGY they put into the game, i was blown away. The amount of detail was worth at least one single playthrough to admire the game.

For me, I played the game a couple more times after I finished it because I wanted to unlock the Silver Guns which featured unlimited ammo! Besides, killing the baddies in Black was one of the most satisfying experiences for any shooter on the PS2.

I actually discovered this game I'd say no more than 2 months ago. I was very surprised at the quality of graphics and how fun the game actually is. You rarely have to worry about running out of ammo and you can pretty much shoot anything you want and you get some nice effects.
