PS4 Cloud gaming?

Hi all,

I just wondered if anyone else has heard any news about the cloud gaming for PS4?
I believe this will mainly be used to play your PS3 games but how well will it work?

I recently got an email from PSN stating that if you buy certain games now (COD: Ghosts being one of them) then you'll be able to get a discount on the price for PS4. I don't believe this is the cloud gaming application, or at least I hope this is not what they had in mind! I would hate to buy all the good PS3 games again just for PS4!

What are peoples thoughts on this?

Yeah basically you get x amount of cloud storage with your PSN account and once you buy a game it's tied to your account and you own it. The end game is to be able to play any game you've bought on any console, all you have to do is log in.

Yes it's basically this. This technology already exists on pc, on services like gaikai and onlive it's pretty neat, you can play games even with a very low end pc because you're using bandwidth to run the game. On consoles means you play your games everywhere without the cd or downloads, great addition.

I knew this technology was on PC platform already, but are you sure about the PC requirements? I thought that you had to still have a computer powerful enough to play the game. I've never heard of gaikai, will definitely look into that, the only cloud gaming I know of is steam, but you still have to have the game downloaded on your computer to play and your computer still needs to meet the requirements to play.

This actually sounds pretty cool, though I doubt it will be developed enough for m*** use within the next year. Still, it excites me to see how well they can pull this off, since I think this contributes a lot not only to gaming, but to the whole technological industry as well.

I'm still not 100% sold on the cloud but I get where their coming from with it and I'll be more than happy to try it out to see how it measures up. I get the feeling that by the time the PS5 rolls out we'll all be using the cloud so might as well get used to it now.
