Do you think the PS4 runs better when used on 220-240 volts, as opposed to 110-120? It is dual-rated to handle the range of power up to 250.
Since every home electrical equipment needs 50Hz to work, the only difference is the current you need. With 110V you will need more current than 220V and cables with a bigger section, in order to work with the same equipment. The PS4 requires only 130-140 Watts while you are playing so I see no big deal if you choose 110V or 220V, in terms of efficiency. You will only see your bills increasing if you use 110V, because:
if A=W/V
then
140/110=1,28 Ampere
140/220=0,64 Ampere
Your console will work the same way and it will give you the same performances with both voltages.![]()
Interesting, thank you.
It interests me because I've read that some appliances will operate better with the higher voltage. But I really know next-to-nothing about how electricity works.
I am using a PS4 from Japan in China. So the cord is originally intended for a 110 volt outlet. However, I've got it plugged into China's 220 volts. I wonder if the cord is transferring 110 or 220.
