PS4 service and warranty plans????

Im just curious if anyone has thoughts on the service plans. I got my PS4 from target and their plan is 45 bucks for 3 yrs. I think sony's is 60. If target just ends up sending it to sony for repairs wont that just take longer than going to sony itself? IDK...I know i need a plan though sooner than later. I heard best buys plan blows

You mean Sony's own protection plan that you can buy via on the PS4? Its not available in AUS,odd.
But as for retailers offering extended warranties,you shouldnt need it depending on your country's laws.
I thought about getting a 3 year extended warranty when I got mine but so many say you dont need it cause of a law called 'Consumer guarrantee'.
So you would be paying for something you would be entitled too anyway.
Sony may only offer 1 year standard warranty,but consumer law (at least here in AUS) says I am covered for longer than that.
I mean you cant buy a $20 fan and expect to be covered for 3+ years but spending the amount of money a console costs would cover you for a few years.

Anyway,like I said,it ,laws may vary depending on your country.

I personally didn't get it, as I'm pretty sure I'm not gonna mess up my PS4. I'm careful with my consoles.

I got a care thing from the retailer for £50ish but it also covers accidental damage including water for a couple of years. Not sure how I'd get water on it but it's good to know.
