So I just got my PS5, and I’m loving it, however I have noticed a similarity in download speeds compared to the PS4. Whoever I start a download, sometimes it is quick, sometimes it can take a long time. For example, I’ll download a game that is 50gb and it will say it will be done in 15-20 minutes, and it is. Then I’ll download another game at 40 or 60gb and it will say it will be done in like 40+ minutes. That’s not really my issue. When I pause it and resume it, the time changes quite a bit. It will drop from 40+ minutes to like 12-15 minutes. Why does it change depending on when/if I pause the download? I am thinking it’s downloading from faster servers based on when I pause and resume? So one server is really slow and if I pause and resume I luck out and grab a server that’s fast?

Usually it's just wifi strength which is up and down like a toilet seat BUT... it can also happen because those times are educated estimates so often you'll see 40 mins to get 80% done and a second later... done. It's always a good idea to re-set you modem/router before downloading. Those things are sporadic - they all are.
