I reckon there will be a lot of happy people here.
Capcom have announced that an enhanced version of the game that started it all "Resident Evil" will be coming to consoles digitally in 2015.
The Enhanced Version will be a remake of the Gamecube original (which was itself a "enhanced version"):
What's even sweeter then all this? Well, players can choose either a new, revamped control scheme or the classic method. Both the original 4:3 aspect ratio or a new 16:9 widescreen mode will also be available.
Check out the announcement trailer below as well as some interesting pictures giving you even more information:
This is pretty cool news as I've never played any of the Resident Evil games aside from maybe 30 mins of Resident Evil 5.
What about you guys and gals?

“Using the latest resolution enhancement and 3D model technology, game resolutions and textures have been significantly upgraded, including 1080p support on next-gen consoles, resulting in characters and backgrounds coming to life in greater detail than ever seen before in Resident Evil. Not only will the graphics impress but the tense sound effects have been fully remastered with 5.1 surround support for a greater gaming atmosphere.”
