A game that has been in development for ages (since 2007 to be exact) that a lot of people might not know is Rockstar Games PS3-exclusive "Agent".

From Wikipedia:

Agent is a stealth action video game currently in development by Rockstar North for the PlayStation 3. In July 2007, Sony announced that Rockstar was working on a new franchise for the PlayStation 3,[1] but details of the project, including its title, were not announced until June 2009 during the Sony press conference at E3.[2]
The game is set during the Cold War and will take players into "the world of counter-intelligence, espionage and political assassinations", according to a Rockstar press release.[3] Rockstar has yet to reveal any details regarding the setting other than the fact that it will be set in the late 1970s.[4]

Well, today Rockstar has renewed it's trademark for "Agent".

Could it be that we might finally see the game come out of it's shadows? What was a PS3 exclusive seems more like it will be released for the PS4. Hopefully more news will come!

Not much is known about Agent but I'm really hoping it's something in the same vein of Alpha Protocol but with the Rockstar polish and seal of quality.

I don't know much about the inner workings of Rockstar, but I believe the GTA and RDR teams were too different teams. So I'm assuming that the team that made RDR has been working on this ever since they stopped working on RDR

Or it's very likely that they just didn't want their trademark to expire.

Rockstar Games; gives me a good outlook on the game. There's really not much information from the Wikipedia page, so I'm sure they're wanting to keep it a secret and either impress everyone, or disappoint everyone. I would expect the game to be amazing since they spent over 5 years working on the game. The cover title of the game looks a bit too bland, hopefully that's still in development as well.

I actually hope they make this and they make it good. I really feel like if Rockstar actually works on this is could possibly be a pretty amazing game since quite of few of their games are great. But this game has been on off the radar basically for quite a few years so it's acutally pretty slim that it'll be something good or even something at all. But I can't wait to see where this leads either way.

if anyone has any pictures of videos of how the game is going to look like please share, I would love to see a preview.

Rockstar has always treated this game like "The weird uncle the family doesn't mention". Really, they never even seem to acknowledge that fact that this thing exists. It's odd really. Im not getting my hopes up on this one.

A cold war stealth action game with espionage? This game sounds too good to be true. I'm a really big fan of that period so I'm very excited for this. Rockstar has proven on multiple occasions that they can make very climatic games like Red Dead Redemption and LA Noire, so I think that they are fully capable of producing a great cold war era game. It's a little bit odd how its been in development since 2007 but I hope that they are just taking their time to make it great. I'm very curious how this game will turn out.

Given what Rockstar has presented in the third person shooter genre as well as the massive worlds they created I think it might be hard to imagine what they would do with a stealth IP. It seems that the scale would need to be much smaller and the stories and missions must somehow pull from GTA 4 while avoiding some of the mechanics and lack luster events that took place in a game like L.A. Noir.

Red Dead Redemption was an awesome game and the DLC they provided for it added to the fun, though it wasn't that great to kill off an entire town of people walking around because of a western Zombie Apocalypse.

The point I'm thinking of is that with Rockstar's resume I want to see them put their best foot forward in this game. They've had so long to discuss, think, brain storm and ultimately create set pieces and interesting missions that this aught to be a stellar game; especially with the full power of the PS 3 or just scraping the PS 4.

Yeah, as late as this is, most logic will point to this being a PS4 game at this point. Even though Sony themselves and a few Japanese companies are still putting out PS3 games, most of the western ones are already getting their games together for the PS4

Without question, this is going to be launched on PS4 directly. Seriously delayed and might win the award for being the longest in development. The name seems promising but I couldn't guess what type of game this is going to be. I think the RDR team are on it or maybe some new group is working on it. This should be a great title provided Rockstar invests in it. I wish this is something more like a Bond or Watch Dog type game and not take the road of L.A. Noire (investigating stuff).

Honestly, I'm starting to thing Agent and FF Versus were never "delayed" in the first place. I'm starting to fall under the impression that they had it in their minds all along that they were going to save their games for the next system cycle.
