Miyamoto says he wished Nintendo had gone HD with the Wii | Wii U

Shigeru Miyamoto, creator of many classic gaming series such as Mario has recently stated that he wished Nintendo had used HD technology on their previous console the Wii. He states that HD became very popular a short time ago, which led to the Wii U being rushed for release but he also admits that HD technology caught Nintendo off guard, which is why they have been having a hard time releasing games for the Wii U.

Bit late for that now, but I totally agree. With the Xbox 360 and the PS3 both using HD technology it just felt like the Wii was lagging behind. I'm glad that they managed to do it for the Wii U at least, the games look so much better now. I know that the graphics on the majority of Wii games didn't really matter, but it's just that extra little luxury that you expect to be included. As the technology moves on and everyone else is using it, it just feels awkward if your product doesn't have it.

It is true that it is too late.
The Wii has always been a technological gap with the PS3 and Xbox 360.C 'was like a big handicap.

The Wii U should do a little better, but I regret that Nintendo is still behind Sony and Microsoft. A chance that they make good games.

They should return to the original model of a console. A controller, a console and a screen. The GamePad is like a little too much .....

Going to have to agree while it's too late for the Wii to go HD it would have been a good choice.
Hopefully they will learn from some of their mistakes next time and try a little harder to compete with the other consoles.
It definitely puts them back a couple of notches but I think they could still recover if they try hard. Luckily it looks like the Wii U could pull up some of the slack.
