Should I upgrade my computer or just buy a console?

I have a sort of a gaming PC and I've been playing a lot of games on it for the past 5 years now. Most of the games of today it can handle pretty well, of course with a little toned down graphical settings for maximum performance, but what I notice is most of the games today are really upping the graphics and I was weary that my PC won't be able to handle the anymore. Do you think it's time to upgrade or should I buy a console instead?

Wow, that's a big question. For the price I find console gaming great value for money and convenient for jumping in and out of short game sessions. I'm an ex p c gamer. I miss modded games but don't miss the p c hardware price.

Well if I were you, I would put the money toward upgrading my PC. Nothing against the PS4 or Xbox One, obviously, but the PC is the better bang for the buck because... wait for it... Steam sales. While it might cost more to upgrade at the outset, although probably not that much more, in the long run you will be saving money. Then again, Steam sales can trap you! RAWR! But if you don't want to worry about the hassle of PC shenanigans than just get a PS4 which is what I did--yeah, I'm lazy. My laptop does the trick for PC gaming. Not the best, but also not the worst.

I used to be really big into computer gamin and thought it was a blast, I found myself playing my console more and more.
Just slam the disc in and your off, it's setup to work nominally right off the pop, I really enjoy gaming from the couch on the tv aswell. (I know PC can be hooked up to the tv aswell)
I recently sold the computer as it was rarely used... Steam deals were great... So was torrenting games..... Oh well. I really don't miss the PC for gaming.

I think maybe upgrade your PC, you always get better gamplay on PC in terms of FPS and resolution, depending on the upgrades you get...

It depends on how much money are you willing to spend to upgrade your PC. Budget on the parts that you'll be upgrading before deciding. Other factors include the type of games that you want to play, and the exclusives on both PC and console platforms.
