So what do you think of South Park: Stick of Truth?

I'm debating buying this and wanted some honest to goodness feedback from peeps that have played it. I love me some South Park and the game looks like a lot of fun. BUT-Is it worth the $60 price tag or should I wait a while and pick it up used for $40 or so? Thanks so much for any opinions!!

Oh, and I'm totally not offended by crudeness. Yes. It's South Park. It's what I expect :)

Well, I haven't played it myself but some of my friends have. From what I gathered, the game is hilarious and fun but it's rather short (about 10 hours, maybe 20 if you do all the side stuff). The only complaint my friends mentioned was indeed how short it was, it's very short for an RPG.

This game is perfect! Its just like watching a Southpark episode. Its funny, fun to play and my God this game is pretty hysterical, I mean you get to choose Jew as a character class, and Cartman's commentary are funny. The script is well made, at first I thought the game would be cheesy as hell, but the game is well made and I've never played a game this fun. The graphics are top notch, I mean it looks exactly like in the show and the animations also. You should definitely play this if you still haven't.

I also want to get the game but a lot of people are telling me that it is a good game but they honestly don't feel that it is worth $60. I was thinking about getting the game to but then most of thew people that I asked about getting it told me that the game is worth the money although they consider it to be fun. By the way I am actually going to be borrowing the game from a friend this week so I would see how that goes.

From what I have seen in youtube videos and a few reviews it looks like a playable South Park episode. I think that alone is cool as heck but I'm in no rush to try it and will just wait for a price drop, especially for its length.

I would wait until the price drops a bit. The story and characters are really fun, but the gameplay gets boring really fast.

Too short for a RPG. It's a ten hours RPG which is bad. South park universe is awesome and they didn't try to bring something new. If you like South Park you will love the game. But don't expect too much from the game. It's decent not good nor bad.

I played through it and while it's a relatively fun game, it gets very repetitive, there are a very limited set of skills, although there is no shortage of equipment... This makes all the fights essentially the same, you just see bigger numbers pop up.
The story is just like a long South Park episode so if you like the show you just might love it.
There are also plenty of callbacks to the show to keep frequent viewers entertained.

Hey everyone. There's one thing about this game that i'm not sure about. I heard some of the jokes will only be understood by people who have watched the sereis on TV. I've not watched South Park for ages, so i'm worried some of the story plot, and jokes will go over my head.

Point is can someone who's not been into south park for a while now, pick this game up and enjoy it and the story and the jokes as much as a fan of the TV series can ?

I was really impressed with the game. It could have been a shoddy quickly put together thing like the family guy game from a couple of years ago, but it was actually a really good RPG. On top of that the humor was brilliant and works really well for a fan of the series.

It's just as disturbing as the show if not more so in certain instances. Never really been a huge fan of South Park to begin with though, just too graphic for me to watch more than once every few months if not years. I think the last actual episode I watched in its entirety was the Imagination Land stuff.

Yeah like some others already stated, it's a great game but not quite worth the full price. You can complete the story in around 10 hours or so, but you can sink more time into it by exploring and finding all sorts of easter eggs. Very rewarding especially if you are a big south park fan. I'd try to rent it from somewhere or maybe pick it up second handed.

I would suggest renting it to get a taste and see if it's for you.

I rented it for about a week, and was pretty happy with the game, but it's been a month or so and I still haven't picked the game up, so I can wait a little bit. Within the week, I got pretty far in the game, but I will probably try and get the platinum trophy.

Although I haven't played the game, I have heard from numerous people about how good it is. The only downside I have heard is that the gameplay is fairly short for the amount of money you pay. I have been waiting for the game to just go on sale.

Yeah been waiting for a good sale too, but even on PC it hasn't gone on a good sale. Hell, Dark Souls 2 and Titanfall have had better discounts so far.

Although I haven't played this title I have heard great things about it and I am a huge South Park fan. Given the chance I would love to pick this one up, other games and life in general has just gotten in the way. As far as I can tell based on reviews and such the game stays true to its roots and plays like a classic episode of the show. The only down sides I've heard was that the play time is some what lacking.
