Sony Interactive Entertainment and Bungie jointly announced that they've agreed to a transaction for Sony to outright acquire Bungie, Inc. The deal is currently pending approval(s) from Bungie shareholders, investors, and the government. Hermen Hulst, head of PlayStation said that Bungie is an independent company, and will remain "hands-off" with decision-making. Sony is just offering more funding for Bungie's projects, whether it is Destiny, or Destiny 2, or games currently in development, or future games.
