Stack up PS Plus Titles for the PS4 before you buy one

Now this is some amazing and really cool news. I know there are people on the board who don't own a PS4 yet but are worried on missing out on the launch deals and free games being offered in the store. However Sony has come out and said that if you're a PS Plus member and are planning on buying the PS4, you can stack and stash the freebies because they'll hold over in your account until you download them later. Honestly this just shows that Sony's PR department is thinking about how to keep people on their side. Good job.

Buy them before you get the PS4

Wow Sony is really on top of making PlayStation the wise choice out the gate. They could've very well said "No, those cookies are for people who showed up early. Not stragglers." or "Sorry we're not taking IOUs for the PS4." That's great news for people who will be picking up the PS4.

That is pretty cool, but you'd have to pay for the monthly to download the freebies, yes? Regardless, it's just $5 a month anyway, and that is a very good option to have for someone like me who likes to take advantage of freebies.

We all like freebies...even freebies that are decent at best. Semi-free games where I just have to pay $5 for the service? Yes please.

It's really a great PR job by Sony and Microsoft should be taking notes. This is how you keep and create a loyal fanbase. I've already done this because I do plan on getting a PS4 and was worried about being able to take advantage of the deals. It's really smart and attractive again just a great PR team at Sony doing it's best to keep gamers on their side.

It's hard not to cheer Sony on when you read news like this. It really makes the console and the company look good. Like they are actually making an effort to connect to their consumers and make the PS4 a hit. Stuff like this just shows that at the very least the PR team is doing an excellent job and understands the minds of their core gamer base.

So, it's like the PSVita? I had 15 games to play on a console that i didn't even bought, and by now i think i am going up to 25 games. It's a candy shop and everything is free!

Sony is just doing things right. This is just the latest in a long line of great PR moves to keep themselves separated from Microsoft. I have a bit of a list of games loaded on my PS Plus account for PS4 and will continue to do so until I buy the console. It's nice that figured out that keeping gamers happy will increase sales.

I like to believe that Sony always knew that keeping gamers happy would increase sales, it was just execution. Just like Microsoft sitting back and watching Sony's launch, Sony watched what Microsoft was doing with their console and how Xbox Live didn't seem all that practical (paying to play online multiplayer when you already pay for internet...it's like you bought the food and the fridge, but you have to put a dollar in the slot to get food).

It was all about execution and free stuff is the best execution.

It's been like this forever. Like, people with Vitas but no PS3s can add PS3 games to their accounts and people with PS3s and no Vitas can add Vita games to their account. It's pretty clever, when you think about it. You become more likely to buy one of the systems as you build a library for it (I know I've wanted to buy a PS3 ever since Demon's Souls got added to the IGC).

Honestly I think it's good one Sony. One thing that they've understood by watching Microsoft is that they have to appeal to the gamers no matter what. As long as they seem to be understanding how to appeal their audience then they'll be fine. It really is a case of a company learning to get consumer loyalty the hard way.

The thing is Sony hasn't been widely marketing it so if you're not on a forum or constantly following video game news websites then you probably don't know about the feature. It makes sense though in a business sense, gamers who follow this thing know and feel gratitude towards Sony and the casual buys games full price.

This is true. I know a few PS+ subscribers who don't know what games are added and when and they most certainly don't know about being able to add games from systems they don't own to their collection. Sony should make such things much more obvious, specially to the subscribers.

You think that they would, since I know people who own PS3's and are planning on buying PS4's but didn't know about the deal. It's just good business by Sony. Gamers who pay attention online will know about the deals and that increases their loyalty to Sony. The casual who doesn't follow video game news will help Sony make their money back by not taking advantage and buying the games at full price. For Sony it's a win win.

It's a great idea and one that I wish other console makers would take on. It would be great if this was a feature on the Xbox One, though I still wouldn't buy it. I just like the idea that Sony is constantly thinking of ways to prove to gamers that they are on our side. Even if their just a big corporation, their a corporation that understands how to appeal to their core audience.
