Sub Account Login Help

Hi All,

I'm a new PS4 owner having switched from xbox360 and I'm struggling to get a sub account set up for my son. I have created a master account and then a sub account from within this master account as instructed in the user manual and the ps website and it all seems to be fine, but when i go to login again the only user i see is my master user - I see no option to log in to the sub account.

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? I guess I'm missing something obvious but I really want to set it up so that the parental controls work as they should.
Thanks,
Chris

So as soon as you start the console, does it only come up with your account to log into to? Your son's account doesn't come up as a option?

Thanks for your reply. That's correct - I get my master account appear as an option to log in and another adult account i sent up for the missus but I do not see the sub account I set up for my son.

Unfortunately looking around the world wide web, you aren't the only person to have this problem. It seems master accounts are ok, but sub-accounts created by master accounts do not appear.

But I found somebody had a solution which I'll quote below and hopefully that will help. If it does/doesn't, let us know:

I still had to go in as a "new user" and activate that sub-account on the console. Once I logged into PSN under my daughter's email/PW, it showed up on the main login screen

I got that from here: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/691087-playstation-4/69103585?page=1

Thanks for your help Haze. So i followed the suggestion in the thread and it worked - I can now see my son's sub account upon switch on and login successfully. Only problem now is that I can only apply the parental setting globally - the changes made to his account apply to all registered users - so that I am no longer able to play Destiny!

I'm very impressed by the console in many ways but the parental control element has been extremely poorly implemented.

UGH! So I'm not the only one with this scnenario! Been trying to figure this out for 2 days!
Any further progress?

Sorry to resurrect a dead thread, but I'm having the same problem. I see where it says to create the account with the e-mail and password, but what if I can't remember what I used? Is there a way to find it?

Also, what is the minimum age for online play? I'm thinking I may just set him up a new account to let him do that stuff.
