Target and K-Mart in Australia pulls GTA V from shelves

Yep,even though we only got an R18 rating for games in AUS not that long ago Target in AUS and now K-Mart have decided to pull GTA V off their shelves due to consumer feedback on mainly the issue of violence against women.

Please, this is an R18 game! Its for sale and play for 18 year old plus adults. Do you think they will pulll their R18 DVD's and blu rays off their shelves? There are plenty movies AND TV shows that show violence against women too.

Just shows that the R18 rating for games in AUS is not working to well if this can happen.

What I find insanely funny about all this is...

The game has been out since September last year. And NOW they complain about this?

It's absolutely ridiculous. And just shows we (Australians) are still and always will be behind other countries when it comes to video games.

I still wonder what the point was of introducing a R 18+ rating for games.

And for the whole "violence against women" point, what about games like "Saints Row IV" or "Ride to Hell: Retribution"? (especially Ride to Hell - watch Angry Joe's review to see what I'm talking about)

Thanks god I got the game before it by pulled off the shelf. lol. This is ridiculous. How many movies have violence towards woman? If this is the case, every action packed movie that has a woman beaten up must be banned from the cinema.
