Trying to remember the title of a strategy game for the PS 1

Hi guys, could you help me remember the name of a PS 1 strategy game? The game was similar to Red Alert wherein you got a 2D top down view of the battle ground. You could upgrade buildings in order to get more powerful units. However, this game dealt with alien races. I think it featured 3 or 4 different races to choose from each with its own set of weapons and equipment. One of the best things that this game has got is that it had a two player split screen mode which could be played cooperatively or competitively. Any ideas?

I am not to sure what you mean but a good thing to do is type the description of your game into google, like i wanted to find the name of the game which i used to own called army 2 or whatever i just typed in plastic solider ps1 game.

I tried it, trust me but nothing came out. I did not see what I was looking for. All that shows are the top 100 ps1 games, Red Alert, and other games that I am positively certain are not what I'm looking for. The thing about this game is that it was not famous I think because all the attention was on Red Alert.

The only strategy game that i remember having aliens, aside from StarCraft, was Dark Colony, but i think that was a exclusive for the PC.

Hmm, all I can think of, besides Command and Conquer (there were a handful of them on the PS1), are either Warzone 2100, XCOM, or Dune 2000. Not sure if either of those are exact matches, but they sound close to what you remember. I was a big fan of strategy games (still am, really) but I don't recall too many co-op ones. Thanks for the help guys. You know what? At first I thought it was Dune but upon closer look, it's not. It's also not Warzone 2100 because the game I'm looking for is a 2D game. It's not also Starcraft and Dark Colony. I wasn't popular but it was a very good game.
