Update PS4 via USB Flash Drive

For those of you that don't know, the guys at BestBuy here in the states is saying not to update the system via the internet and to do it by downloading it directly from the internet and upload that on a usb flash drive to the PS4. I'm not sure if their is a problem or the network is just getting swamped. All I did was go to the Sony site and download the file. Then I Put it in to its own special folder. So I have a folder called PS4 on the usb root than another folder called UPDATE in the PS4 folder. Plugged the thing into the PS4 and restarted. I was good to go after that. Anyone having troubles getting it from the internet? Just wanted to give everyone a heads up.
