Want to use Imac mid 2010 as monitor

Hi guys, specifically apple mac users,

My TV decided that it doesn't want to turn on anymore and rather than investing hundreds of pounds in a new one I was wondering how I could use my Imac mid 2010 as a monitor instead. What software and hardware will I need? My oeprating system is Snow Leopard.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hey,

you can use your iMac as a TV monitor but you need to plug a converter, such as >>this one<<.

In addition, you will want to check on the Apple Support Site if it's really possible with the iMac you own (model/year).

You need what Alex linked to. Kanex says that 2010 models are supported, I believe it has to be the 27" model.

I think you are limited to 720 p resolution though.
