Hi! So my old headset broke and i want to get a new one. My needed things are it must work on both Mac and PS4, I want it to support the dolby(bf4) surround sound, and i want it to have a nice appearance (:D) My budget is $60-$100 so i want it do be a good one but not too expensive. Thanks for the help!

P.S. if its even possible(which i dought) i would like to get a Razer Headset but after some research i found they may not work. Please, if you know ANYTHING on the subject of compatible razor headsets please share.

I just wanna jump in again and say that ONLY wired headsets can offer TRUE surround sound. Any wireless ones are all 'virtual' surround.
That being said I know there are many expensive wireless headsets that may sound as good as true surround wired ones,do they offer true directional surround as good? I dont know, one would hope so.

The Sony PS4 Pluse headset sounds good.

Its affordable and looks like it will last a long time.

I picked up a pair of PX4 (Turtle Beach) for 149$. While they are wireless, you can have them wired in as well (that is how I am using them).

I tried them on both Call of Duty: Ghosts and Battlefield 4.... Battlefield 4 was 100% superior sound quality than CoD: Ghost - I did not change any settings between games or anything. But there was a noticeable difference. BF4 was clearer, louder, you heard more, etc... CoD was not as detailed sound-wise.

That being said, you may not want to pickup a set that is that expensive.

I was using the Kunai Triton. I liked them (wired). My issue with them is that I have big ears and the headphone is shaped slightly differently so they would hurt my ears after using them for extended periods. Other than that they were great.

These are stereo headset, but Ive heard its good gaming headset for the quite cheap price.
For anyone that hasnt had a gaming headset before these would be a decent choice but for those of us you now use a surround headset a stereo one doesnt quite cut it anymore, especially if playing FPS games online where directional enemy sounds are important.

I had both the turtle beach phantom and astro a50 and decided to return the phantoms because even though they are wireless, you still had to use a cable for chatting. The a50 are great to wear and the adjustments are easy to use

I still have, and use, the old Turtle Beach Ear Force X1's. Although I have not tried the microphone out with the PS4 yet...

From what Ive read on forums and yt vids Astro A40 and A50 are amongst the best if not THE best.
But I have heard that for some reason the A40 is still better than the newer A50.
You certainly pay for it though.

I can tell the difference from the Triton to the Turtle Beach PX4.

The issue with the PX4 is that if you do not set them up properly, they will cut in and out and not connect properly to the Blue Tooth receiver that comes with it. Took awhile before I realized the problem. But man are the PX4's great.

I think in the end for a lot of people though, it comes down to how much you want to spend.. Some are not prepared to shell out 150+ for headsets. That being said, you can get a decent pair for under 100$. Just do your research before hand :)

Turtle Beach is a good one, but it really does depend on how much you're willing to spend. When I wasn't rolling in cash, I used iFroggz. You could get a good pair, not the greatest, but a good pair for a reasonable price. Now that I use Turtle Beach I've given them away to relatives who seem to be happy.

They look nice, but it does say 'stereo' . With audio boost giving 'virtual surround' . How accurate virtual is compared to true surround though I dont know..

Yes, I read that... Unfortunately like was stated earlier, true surround sound can only be acchieved with wired headsets. My system and TV location make it almost impossible for me to use a wired headset. So I thought these might make an affordable substitute for wireless surround sound. That said, I have never owned a pair of true surround sound headphones and at this point I dont really know if I could tell the difference between "Virtual" and "True".

If you never had a gaming headset at all stereo headsets will sound great too,and Im sure these would sound good as well.

So over the weekend I picked up a pair of Sony PS3 wireless stereo headphones on clearance. Ive read that with the new 1.52 patch you could use the official Sony Playstation branded headphones with the PS4. I really like the headphones, but when I plugged the USB dongle into the PS4 and turned on the headphones I got an error message saying my devices was not compatible with the my PS4. Is there a step I am forgetting, or did I buy a headset I can't use? If there is going to be another update, when will it be released so I can make the decision to keep what I bought or try to return them?

Thanks for any help.

Listen to this guys! If you really looking for quality, your headset needs to be wired. It's impossible for a wireless one to provide sound as good as a wired.

Which one exactly? Can you post a link to info,or a pic?

These are the ones I bought. A wired headset is not practical for my set up due to constant foot traffic between me and the TV/PS4.
If there will be a patch soon to allow me to use these then I'll keep them. I really like them, they are very comfortable and the sound quality is fantastic. (I tried them on a friends PS3).

Ah yes, thats the original PS3 stereo 'virtual surround' one.
I do know the newer Pulse headset is supposed to be working when a new patch arrives but there was no mention of this one being able to work on PS4.However I would wait until the patch comes out if you can and see, cause from what Ive read on the internet that one may end up working too. Not sure though.
Ofcourse if you have a limited time to return it for a refund then its up to you.
