What draws you in to a game?

Just like with watching a movie or a TV series, a game has to draw you in. Then it has to keep you in. If it's not fast-paced & you are just bopping around looking for things, the interest can wane so easily.
So, what do you prefer?

I like games that gives me freedom to work with my character the way I want to my taste. Any video game that allows massive character customization will always keep me in it for longer play.

The gameplay, graphics, and storyline are the major attractions of the games I choose to play. The game I choose to play should have good graphics, a thrilling storyline, and exciting gameplay.
