What was the greatest PS1 RPG (in your opinion)?

We should have put a poll in this thread. It would have been good to see which game came out on top. Anyway, based on my unofficial count (I'm no mathematician), Final Fantasy VII is leading the pack. Any other votes guys? Or shall we crown FF7 the greatest PS1 RPG of all time?

Final Fantasy had a deep impact on many gamers. I guess it was just something new back then on so many levels. It was complex, the world was huge, there was so much to explore, a nice story, great characters and so on and so on..

I would say Final Fantasy IX. It is my favorite PS1 RPG as well as being my favorite video game of all time. It was the first FF I finished from beginning to end, and I was charmed by everything the game had to offer. I liked the battle and ability system, the inclusion of Summons in the main plot, the characters themselves (especially Vivi and Freya). Everything about the game I really liked and I replay the game all the time.
