What were the great features of Syphon Filter 2?

I loved the Syphon Filter series on the PSX. When the first Syphon Filter came out, I couldn't stop playing it. The levels were huge, it was fun to shoot down the bad guys, and the story was intriguing. When Syphon Filter 2 came out, I purchased it outright. What grabbed my attention was that it offered 2 player split screen death match mode which was a blast to play with a friend!

What did you like about Syphon Filter 2?

I loved playing the death match! Granted, I probably often lost, but I remember how much fun we had because of how suspenseful it is. My memory of everything specifically, is a little hazy, but like with any of these games, it's always the bombs that get people shouting. Somehow, I think I found the multiplayer in this a little more fun than Counter Strike, probably because it was a lot sillier.

The only downside of the 2 player death match mode of this game was that you could "cheat" by looking at the side of the screen of you opponent because it was split screen mode. But this was true also with other games that featured split screen death match. Since I've mentioned downsides, I would also like to point out that the taser in this game has been dummied down as well. I liked the Taser of the first game much more because it was one heck of a weapon.

Thanks for bringing back memories. My favorite scene in Syphon Filter 2 is the scene where Lian Xing must elude her pursuers through stealth, similar to Tenchu. What pisses me off a bit is when I get caught and shot to death. There was this mission within a prison facility where Lian must carefully rescue a captive without being seen by jail guards.

Yeah, I think that this is the second mission? The stealth missions on Syphon Filter games were pretty unforgiving. I remember playing these missions over and over again. But I still persevered because I found it to be a lot of fun. Though the story was not up to par with Metal Gear Solid, it was still entertaining and captivating.
