What will be PlayStation's answer to Gears of War?

Lol, you are saying here that games don't need to have an answer for another game so Killzone is not an answer to Halo. But then on another thread you all talk about the PS4 and the Xbox One and the games that each console has and saying that this console has better games on that console. And now some of you are saying that Killzone is not an answer to Halo? Then you talk about exclusives and you mention that the Playstation has this and the Xbox has that.

I would agree that PS4 needs a title to go head to head with GOW.

I know the PS4 will be superior hardware, but the Wii has proven you dont necessarily need superior hardware to sell a ton.
Where Xbox has Forza PS will have the Gran Turismo Series. I dont really play halo much anymore so thats not a concern, but games like Bioshock and GOW are what i like to play. If we could get a nice co-op shooter on PS4 I'd be set!

So, do you consider sequels boring?

Sony did it with Killzone. It was dubbed as a Halo killer before. But then it didn't live up to the hype. Maybe they would do it with Gears of War too? Or maybe they wouldn't. Yes, Gears of War is not the main selling point of the Xbox. But for those who are solid PlayStation fanboys, probably they also deserve a taste of what it's like to play a game similar to Gears.

I can find sequels boring, but generally on their own merits or rather the lack thereof. I mean there are sequels and then there are sequels - see Assassin's Creed or Bioshock Infinite etc.

I don't think so but we still have the same awesome exclusives coming to ps4, and maybe even more exclusives added that are not part of a sequel.

Oh, I have an idea... Why not transform the Resistance franchise into a third-person shooter ala GoW? That would certainly turn a lot of heads. Resistance would always be behind Killzone's shadow. So why not make something drastic for the franchise? They made a 3rd person game out of it on the PSP. I think it would be great on the PS4.

I think this is actually a pretty nice idea.

Though, personally, I don't really care about Gears at all. I find it to be extremely boring, to be honest. I prefer Army of TWO when it comes to co-op cover-based TPS.
