With new update all notifications appear on the left instead of the right.

Hi,

With this newest update, all notifications will now appear on the left hand side.

What do you guys think of this?

Personally I don't understand why the change is needed. Quite frankly I preferred it how it was because I liked getting messages, invites and more on the right hand side. It was like this with the PS3 and therefore I kind of liked how they kept it the same.

It doesn't really matter and its only a small change and I'll get used to it eventually but now switching between consoles I'll have to get used to glancing up and to the left or right depending on what console I'm on to read my notifications.

Most were but things like messages and a few other notifications appeared on the right.

To be honest, I do not get many new messages, save for the PS4 telling me so-and-so has joined a party or I have a party invite. For whatever reason while I am on my PS4, I do not get notifications that tell me when someone has logged in--like on my PS3. I probably turned this off and it is probably for the better.

For some reason, the PS4 does not notify you when a friend of yours appears online. Baffles me why they didn't include that being so simple.

And speaking of, why do we get notifications if friends join a party? Seems odd to get notifications for that...

So we can join them? I honestly have no idea. Every time I see the notification though I say to myself, "So what?"

That is what the Xbox 360 started to do and still does. Something along the lines of, "So-and-so just started playing X." Or if you would boot up a game, "You have three friends playing this game."

I guess the reasoning must be in case you want to go play that game with them, but there are so many ways of communicating and arranging that stuff outside of the Xbox that it really makes no sense to announce it every time someone joins a party in any game.
