Xbox One won't be released in Japan till 2014

It was recently announced that Microsoft's new console the Xbox One won't be hitting the shelves in the land of the rising sun until next year. It's already well known that Microsoft doesn't do particularly well in Japan, as the country usually tends to stick more with Sony and Nintendo as they are both Japanese companies. This looks like it will be a repeat of last generation where Microsoft sold terrible in Japan. It definitely looks like Microsoft is going to put the majority of their focus on America.

Microsoft seems to have been planning to market to a very specific audience up until recently. This was made obvious when they announced the always online requirement, which seemingly meant that even American troops who were probably in rural areas weren't even considered. That said, I think after completely disregarding the soldiers, disregarding Japan becomes less surprising in comparison.
