Final Fantasy 7 (Ps1)

What we have here are cute super deformed characters running around in pre-rendered background environments. And though the game looks like this, it's still one of the most memorable games on the PS1. It's not my favorite FF game but it ranks among the best that I have played. This game has probably set the bar for other RPGs that came after it. It's a masterpiece.

It was the first Final Fantasy in 3D! Are we in the future or what?
Too bad that my first PS1 Final Fantasy was FFVIII, so i can't go back to FFVII for reasons i don't understand even myself.

I know that somehow. Sometimes the luxury of having high standards is really frustrating.

It's nice to get a reminder for how far we've come graphically speaking. Strangely enough though, I haven't felt nearly as compelled by the story line in any of its sequels. Sure, they look pretty, but they just don't do for me what FFVII did.

It sure isn't FF VI, that's for sure. Nothing was as gripping or engaging as that game, as far as I'm concerned. FF VII is still a 9/10 game, but it hasn't aged as gracefully as it's predecessors.

True the game hasn't aged as well as the others but people still loved the game and they still talk about it. Although it wasn't the best in the series, it is the most popular game. I read a lot of posts from different people about this game. They mention the others but this game is always mentioned as a favorite. I have this game and like everyone else I love it and I play it over and over.

I just wish that Squeenix would go ahead and make a modern remake! This story is too good NOT to do that. Even an HD remake that gets rid of the super deformed but adorable imagery would be great.. but make sure the boobs stay. You know what I mean.. That's right.. Reno can't be let go in these tough economic times!

We have a game that took a big chunk of my teenage years away! I don't regret it one bit though as this game is one of my favorites of all time and just reading this makes me want to download a rom or something and play it again.

What I do regret however, is never beating Emerald and Ruby Weapon. I recall encountering these 2 beasts and spending hours trying to beat them, without ever succeeding. In fact, I don't think I ever got close. I think something I'll do is conquer those 2 demons from my teenage years. I felt like I never beat the game because I couldn't take those 2 down, so it's time to change that!

I don't think I would be into a modern re-make. This game seemed like it took forever to beat the first time around. I didn't even put it back into the console after I finished it. I did enjoy it and it was groundbreaking for its day. Even older adults were talking about this game when it was released.

Ah, the game that would make all sequels obsolete upon release... apparently. This game was alright, but I don't know - it isn't my favorite. And it can't be because of the graphics because at that time only cut scene graphics mattered and FF had that down pat. Hmm, I don't know what it is, but I just - I don't know.

It's one of the more overrated games imo. The plot wasn't that good, definitely not as engaging as VI's. And I know it was Square's first venture into 3D graphics, but the fact that Tetsuya Nomura's art style was the way they went in regards to the characters, was and is not something I like. I also know that Nomura's art style lends to easier development for 3D graphics than Amano's, but goddamn, they look goofy as hell. Battle system was cool, though.
