Regions and such

justaquestion

New Member
hi folks,

first post so be gentle :o

i only have a quick question which i havent seen posted yet. i live in the UK and im very excited that the PS4 is region free! im travelling over to the states in december and figured as its about $140usd cheaper in the states than the uk i would buy the ps4 there, does anyone know if this will be ok? i know the games are region free but should i encounter any problems? im thinking along the lines of different voltage / power being used in the uk over the us so is the hardware any different or will it just be the same box with just a different power lead attached?

thanks in advance!

Blu ray movies too..While many are region free you wont be able to play your Region B discs,as the US PS4 would only play Region A.
That may not matter to you as you may only use it for games and have a seperate blu ray player for movies.

PS4 is region free for games but not for blu ray movies,no blu ray player is by default, not without region switching codes that some are able to do.
DVD's I dunno if would play all regions or not.

Yeah, you should have no problems with games and such but definitely check out the regions for Blu-Rays and DVD's. Other than that and a power cord, you'll be fine I think.

thanks for the answers folks, i didnt think about the blu ray regions ... ill have a look at the ones i currently have as that would be rather annoying not being able to play them.

cheers agin!

AFAIK, you won't have troubles with the BluRays cause if the reader is region free, the region of the disc doesn't matter.

Of course that there are exceptions to the rule, there are some games that ain't region free because of server issues and what not. Persona 4 Arena and Demon Souls come to mind when talking about the PS3, so the PS4 will definitely have some titles that will do the same.
